Frequently Asked Questions

How many patients will the Rehabilitation Center cater to? What’s the breakdown between inpatients and outpatients?

Currently, Hadassah caters to over 5,000 patients annually at the Rehabilitation Center on Mount Scopus comprised of approximately 4,500 outpatients and 450 inpatients.
We anticipate these numbers will more than triple after the new Gandel Rehabilitation Center opens, servicing 15,000 outpatients and 1,500 inpatients a year.

What is the demographic breakdown of patients being cared for at Hadassah?

Hadassah serves patients without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation or nationality. Hadassah does not keep statistics of patients based on their ethnic or religious background. The range of patients being treated at Hadassah reflects the diversity of the population in the greater Jerusalem area.

Hadassah is an international symbol of co-existence, a place in which mutual respect and peace can thrive. Transcending politics and geographical boundaries, every patient receives the same compassionate, cutting-edge care that is the hallmark of Hadassah.

The dedicated staff reflect the diverse population of Jerusalem; Jews, Muslims and Christians, Israelis and Palestinians, collaborating daily to treat the sick and the wounded. With medicine as the common denominator, staff, patients and their families are able to see past ethnicity, past religion, to our shared humanity.

Do you anticipate that patients from overseas will seek treatment at the Gandel Rehabilitation Center?

It is anticipated that the Gandel Rehabilitation Center will service a small number of international patients who will travel to Israel to receive outstanding rehabilitation treatment and care and/or to be close to children or family members.
