During his current visit to Melbourne and Sydney, Hadassah International Executive Director Jorge Diener has inspired Hadassah supporters through sharing with them his lived experiences working for the organisation with so many global facets.
Jorge was emotional as he recounted arriving at the Polish-Ukraine border on 8 March 2022 with the first Hadassah emergency mission team.
In his meetings Jorge shared his enthusiasm about Hadassah’s global work and the innovative research and treatments at the hospital itself.
Jorge’s pride and joy in the hospital was expressed in his thanks to the Gandel’s and in explaining how the new Gandel Rehabilitation Center will serve the 1.2 million people of Jerusalem and surrounds.
Speaking of the multi-discipline rehabilitation services that will be available to strengthen patients during their most fragile moments, Jorge emphasised that these services will enable IDF soldiers, victims of terror or accidents, elderly patients and others, to begin again. He noted the state-of-the-art facilities across neurology, geriatrics, spinal cord and orthopaedics, respiratory, vision and more, will provide the next steps in therapy and recovery.
