You’ve seen the pictures of devastation. You may have heard the voices of first responders, survivors, and bereaved families. And you’ve likely read the grim reports about the casualties. In the midst of this crisis, Hadassah Medical Organization is responding with the life-saving and life-restoring excellence that make it so critical to Israel’s national resilience. Right now, Hadassah’s hospitals are operating in maximum emergency mode. Only the most urgent cases are still hospitalised. Wherever medically possible, all other patients have been sent home and elective treatments postponed. With the top two floors of all hospital buildings closed, available secure space is at capacity and beyond. The Underground Emergency Hospital at the Gandel Rehabilitation Center is fully deployed on Mount Scopus, ensuring that more than 140 critical patients can receive life-saving care, including intensive care where necessary. Another 200 patients from across hospital departments are now safely underground at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Surgical, paediatric and orthopaedic patients have been moved to two Protected Temporary Hospitalization Areas, with the Neonatal ICU now sheltering near the underground ORs. But this crisis is not over. Missile attacks continue daily, and the number of wounded is rising. Hadassah must urgently expand its capacity to treat those injured and care for those traumatised. This means completing six additional underground operating rooms at Ein Kerem to safely handle mass-casualty events; adding 75 more rehabilitation beds at the Gandel Rehabilitation Center so patients can recover without overwhelming surgical wards; and expanding mental health facilitiesto support thousands of Israelis now suffering acute trauma — an already stretched system pushed to its limit. That’s why Israel needs Hadassah. That’s why Hadassah needs you. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel, praying for peace, the return of the hostages, safety for our heroic IDF, and healing for the wounded. Am Israel Chai! Thank you for your support. Lynda Brest President DONATE NOW |
