Recently, after an arduous preparation process of over a year, Hadassah Medical Center joined the distinguished list of medical institutions in the world that have been awarded the prestigious JCI international standard that comprehensively evaluates medical institutions based on criteria of quality of care and safety of patients and staff.
Hadassah hospitals stood out in the areas of research and clinical trials, advanced medical care, and training the next generation of doctors in Israel. The high score that Hadassah received is particularly notable given the extraordinary challenges that the teams faced in the past year.
"Hadassah is definitely a place that provides ‘medicine with a soul,’ and this is reflected in the caring and giving of the employees we met in the departments and in the waiting rooms. It is clear that this is the deep essence of their work," the JCI review team noted in the summary of the assessment at Hadassah.
Another significant honour for Hadassah was the award presented by Mayor Moshe Lion at the Jerusalem Business and Economics Conference in recognition of its outstanding efforts during “Operation Iron Swords.” Hadassah played a crucial role, providing care to wounded soldiers and assisting thousands of evacuees from the south who sought refuge in Jerusalem.
Hadassah director general, Prof Yoram Weiss, said: “Receiving this recognition on behalf of the city and the business community is dedicated to our staff across all departments and sectors”. He also noted that Hadassah had received the prestigious JCI accreditation award, emphasising that “this accreditation is not just a milestone for our medical centre but a boost for Jerusalem, attracting biomedical and tech companies eager to collaborate with Hadassah’s researchers and doctors to advance global healthcare”.
Prof Weiss added, “Jerusalem is blessed with outstanding medical professionals who tirelessly provide top-notch care. This award and our global accreditation remind us of our mission, values, and dedication to our community. Thank you to Jerusalem’s business community".
