Hadassah was honoured to welcome Ziv Shilon to the Gandel Rehabilitation Center at Mount Scopus. Shilon, an esteemed Israeli entrepreneur, lecturer, and social activist, is renowned for his remarkable journey of recovery and resilience.
Severely injured in 2012 during a military operation on the Gaza border as an officer in the Givati Brigade, Shilon lost his left hand and sustained significant damage to his right hand due to an explosive device. Following his injury, he underwent 17 surgical operations and 11 months of intensive rehabilitation, showcasing extraordinary perseverance.
During his visit, Shilon shared his experiences with the centre's patients, providing valuable insights on overcoming crises and building a successful life post-injury. Shilon’s presence and message of hope profoundly inspired everyone, reinforcing the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
Shilon's visit underscores Hadassah's commitment to supporting patients' physical and mental journeys towards recovery and empowerment.
