New Nursing Research Centre opens at Hadassah

Hadassah has long been at the forefront of nursing education and healthcare, underscoring its commitment to pioneering medical and nursing excellence. It was Hadassah that established the first nursing school in the 'Yishuv' in 1918, laying the foundation for professional nursing in the region and contributing significantly to the development of healthcare services.

And 106 years later, Hadassah marked another milestone, with the opening of a new Nursing Research Center at the Henrietta Szold Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Nursing, located at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The new centre will focus on research to help advance the quality of patient care. Its establishment was made possible through funds raised by Hadassah’s Nurses and Allied Health Professionals Council in America.

Dr Rely Alon, director of nursing and health professions at Hadassah Medical Organization, said that the new centre is a special place which will “help us to create our dreams.

Dr Alon’s words resonate and are particularly relevant when it comes to The Hadassah-Achotenu Ethiopian-Israelis Scholarships in Health program, supported by Hadassah Australia.

The ‘dream big’ model underpinning the Hadassah-Achotenu program has already provided clear evidence of success.  Hadassah-Achotenu graduate nurses are having an impressive impact in hospitals and clinics around Israel, contributing to making a difference to health outcomes of individuals and communities, particularly now, in these trying times when nurses are in high demand.
