Hadassah staff's heroic lifesaving response at the scene of the terror attack near Ma'ale Adumim

In the harrowing terror attack that took place last Thursday at the a-Zaim checkpoint near Ma'ale Adumim, staff members from Hadassah Hospital found themselves at the heart of an incident while either heading to their morning shift or returning from a night shift. Despite the chaos, their immediate response was to assist the injured on-site and save lives.

Mike Pompeo donated blood and visited wounded soldiers at Hadassah’s Gandel Rehabilitation Center

Former head of the CIA and American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, together with his wife Susan, recently visited wounded soldiers and donated blood at Hadassah’s newly opened Gandel Rehabilitation Center, on Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus.

Hadassah’s Chief Medical Clown DuSH called to duty; supports soldiers, war wounded patients and grieving families

David ‘DuSH’ Barashi has been serving as a Medical Clown at Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem for more than 20 years. And in recent years, DuSH has been managing the Hadassah Clown Unit at the Ein Kerem and Mount Scopus campuses. Routinely, DuSH and the other Hadassah Medical Clowns provide impactful diversions to reduce stress, anxiety and fear experienced during medical procedures.

New Nursing Research Centre opens at Hadassah

Hadassah has long been at the forefront of nursing education and healthcare, underscoring its commitment to pioneering medical and nursing excellence. It was Hadassah that established the first nursing school in the 'Yishuv' in 1918, laying the foundation for professional nursing in the region and contributing significantly to the development of healthcare services.

Hadassah’s pioneering 3D surgery restores soldier’s shattered knee

Shilo, a soldier in the Givati Brigade and a cadet in the Officers’ School, was sent to the Gaza envelope (border communities) when the war broke out on October 7. Shilo recalled, “We spent Shabbat at the base, and early Saturday morning, we were whisked to the Gaza border communities. Like everyone else, we didn’t realise the magnitude of the incident at first, with many unclear issues.

For his recent Bar Mitzvah, Raphy Lenko chose to support Hadassah's Emergency Appeal, asking for donations in lieu of gifts. His thoughtful gesture was recognsed with a Certificate of Appreciation presented by Ron Finkel AM, President of Hadassah Australia, during a special moment shared with his parents, Debbie and Eytan, and grandparents, Eva and Tab Fried.
