Tickets are now available for the highly anticipated screenings of the film "Exodus 91" at the Jewish International Film Festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
Hadassah Australia has proudly partnered with JIFF to offer special screenings of the film followed by panel discussions about empowering young Ethiopian-Israelis to dream big and overcome economic, social and educational challenges.
"Exodus 91 tells the incredible story of Operation Solomon - Israel’s mission to rescue 15,000 Ethiopian Jews from famine and civil war. Director Micah Smith brings a historical moment to vivid life through a hybrid of documentary and dramatic narrative, blurring the lines between past and present and interrogating the ramifications of the rescue on immigrants today. In a dramatisation of events, the film travels with Israeli diplomat Asher Naim to Ethiopia. As he enters negotiations, his seemingly altruistic mission is thrown into doubt and skepticism.
