With your help we will again step up and create a pathway to a profession of choice for Ethiopian-Israelis. Hadassah Australia is backing this community to not only fulfil its dreams but to fill the gap of a distressing nursing shortage in Israel. Hadassah Australia is supporting a unique program that is already assisting Ethiopian-Israelis to complete university. The Hadassah Australia Ethiopian Nurses Scholarship has opened the door to a degree in nursing at the Henrietta Szold Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Nursing. Hadassah Australia’s ‘Two Problems-One Solution’ approach is helping to resolve Israel’s chronic nursing shortage while providing an opportunity for socio-economic progress for a remarkable community. Since 2016, more than 67 Ethiopian-Israelis have become qualified nurses through the program, heralding the start of a systemic increase in community participation.
