I was talking to one of my grandchildren a few weeks ago. She is ten. She loves sport and she’s good (rose coloured eyes I hear you say). She is a student at Bialik College in Melbourne. The student population is divided in to three “houses” – Herzl, Weizmann and Szold. My grand-daughter is a member of Szold, and I couldn’t be happier. Read more

Saving Lives, Giving Hope: Hadassah’s Ukraine Emergency Mission

Months have passed and Hadassah’s Ukraine Emergency Mission continues to treat patients in the refugee center on the Ukrainian-Polish border. Hadassah continues to provide medication in coordination with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health; train local staff about mass-casualty and serious trauma incidents and assess trauma and emergency equipment in local hospitals. Tour Leader's back repaired at Hadassah Hospital

Velez, a 61-year-old tour guide, was on a bus headed towards Tel Aviv when the driver hit an unexpected bump in the road. Velez, not wearing a seat belt, was lifted in the air and came down hard. He felt an excruciating pain in his back and let out a piercing scream. He couldn’t stand or sit. He was raced to Hadassah Hospital, where he learned that he had two fractures in his spine. Miraculously, Velez’s back was repaired in a 20-minute surgery! Read more

    Prof. Weiss, 63, an expert in intensive care medicine and anesthesiology, has worked at Hadassah for 31 years. For seven years before being appointed acting director-general last summer, he served as director of Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, one of HMO’s two hospitals in Jerusalem.
